NOTES ABOUT CTK:  Men of CTK, put on your schedule now our annual Men’s Retreat held at the Gohr’s residence in the Sherman, TX area. The weekend is October 2-4, 2026. More information will soon follow.

ELDERS SEEKING INPUT: The Board of Elders are asking for input from the members of CTK about moving service times to 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. If the change was to happen, Sunday School would run from about 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Please let an elder know your thoughts on this. The hope is that such a time change will increase our growth.

UNWAVERING EVENT 2.0: Our second Unwavering Event is scheduled for September 12th from 5:00—7:00 p.m. This time we invite all those who feel young at heart to join us. Our musician Madison will be back! The Food Truck this time will be Woody’s BBQ. Plates of pulled pork will sell for $15.00, brisket or ribs for $20.00. This event is sponsored by your Board of Social Ministry and Outreach. Invite friends to come! Let them know we are here!!! The first 50 that arrive will receive $10.00 coupons for Woody’s BBQ!

SMALL GROUP LEADERS: Our small group Bible Studies begin in the Fall. Please let the office know if you would still be willing or would like to lead a small group. This year the book we will be looking at is titled “The Rest of God,” by Mark Buchanan. It will focus on how to restore and refresh your soul by properly celebrating the Sabbath. We could use two or three more small group leaders. Our orientation meeting will be on August 30th at 7:00 p.m.

DEBT REDUCTION FOLLOW UP: After generous donations toward debt reduction during the month of July, our loan is now scheduled to be paid off in April of 2034. Praise the Lord for moving the hearts of many to be generous toward this cause!

THANK YOU!  Every single item on our MDO wish list has been bought! We are constantly in awe of this congregation’s generosity and support. Please keep our MDO program, the kids, and teachers in your prayers as we prepare for the start of our 2nd year.

CONFIRMATION: The Board of Elders have agreed to allow children who are going into 5th grade this Fall to start confirmation. If you have a 5th grader in your house this Fall and would like to enroll your child in confirmation, please talk to Pastor Raebel. Orientation for all students is scheduled for August 30th at 6:00 p.m.

SUNDAY SCHOOL THEME:  The Board of Christian Education has chosen “Doors of the Bible” based on John 10:9 where Jesus says: "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved” for our Sunday school theme for 2026-27. Children, youth and adults will all receive a book explaining some of the doors featured in the Bible and our goal is to grow closer to Jesus so we can stand strong as we face the unique doors in our own lives. 

LOVING HEARTS AND SERVING HANDS NEEDED! As we are preparing to kick off a new school year, we are looking for volunteers to serve in our children's ministry here at CTK. We have several programs that need regular volunteers such as the nursery, children's church during the 10:45am service, and the Mother's Day Out program. We can help you serve in a way that fits your schedule and utilizes your gifts! Please reach out to Allison if you would be willing to invest in the hearts and minds of the next generation.
