NOTES ABOUT CTK: Sylvia Bulot, Bev Tosch, and Saundra Juroska are now at home. Happy Anniversary to Justin and Allison Daniels today! Good news on the website! After much work, the site should be ready to launch very soon! It looks great! We thank Crystal Bell for her dedicated work to make this happen.
RELIGIOUS BODIES CLASS: Pastor will be hosting a small group study on religious bodies. It will compare the Lutheran church doctrine with other various church doctrines. This class is being designed as an outreach class. The price of admission is to bring a non-member with you who is searching for answers to religious questions. The class begins November 3 at 6:30 p.m. and will go for about 6—8 weeks.
NURSERY VOLUNTEERS: we need VOLUNTEERS to always make sure we have 2 adults in the nursery. Volunteers must have a signed child protection policy and current background check on file with CTK. Our biggest need for volunteers is for the Sunday School hours and 10:45am service. If you could volunteer just once a month that would be a BLESSING to us! Please talk to Allison or Annette if you are interested in volunteering or click here to view the SignUp Genius https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050D4CADAF2DA3F49-ctknursery#/
TRUNK OF TREAT: Save the date! Trunk or Treat is happening on October 26th from 4-6pm and we will need lots of help to make this event possible! You can help in the following ways: donating candy, hosting a trunk, game or craft station, helping in the kitchen, or directing traffic for parking.

BUILDING COMMITTEE PROGRESS: Last Wednesday, the Building Committee made great progress in coming to a consensus on a building design that they believe is affordable and can meet the needs of our present and future church for years to come. After the suggested improvements on the proposed floor plan are implemented, it will go back to the architect for schematic drawings which we will then use for our capital fund raising campaign. The schematic drawings will be a major investment with the architect, so the Building Committee is doing everything within its power to make sure it gets it right to the best of their abilities before advancing to that step. They plan to share their findings with the congregation before authorizing the architect to proceed with schematic drawings.
STEWARDSHIP 2024: The theme verse for this year’s stewardship emphasis, Faithful Stewards of God’s Grace, is, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10). The theme for this week is “Getting Stewardship Right.” Through faith, we understand that everything we receive comes from God’s hand, and we can never run out of things for which to thank Him. Receiving is an essential part of our relationship with God. God is the giver; we are the receivers. Only after we have found joy in receiving are we able to respond by using faithfully all the gifts that He entrusts to us. When we use our gifts to serve others and to extend God’s kingdom, we are Faithful Stewards of God’s Grace.
OKTOBERFEST AND SILENT AUCTION!!! Sunday, October 20 is our Annual Festival. We will serve a German lunch for everyone at Noon and the Silent Auction will be open for bidding. We are also looking for Homemade Cakes or desserts for the Cake Walk. If you have one, please let us know. We also have a new area this year, the “Country Corner, that will open the sale to everyone! It is for homemade only small items, like jams, cookies, crafts. If you have some cookies or brownies that you make and love, bring a few in and we will put them on the table with a small price on them. If you sew, have some potholders or things like that, bring them. This will let everyone just come in and buy something that they want. If you have an item that you would like to donate to the Silent Auction, please bring it to Church this week so we can have a spot for it. If you have any questions, please let a Committee Member know or you can email letitiarutan@sbcglobal.net or call 210-601-5496.We are excited and hope everyone can join us to help in our Mission!
