Weekly Announcements

May 11, 2025

LADIES’ TEA: Ladies, please join us on Sunday, May 18th from 3—5:00 p.m. for a lovely afternoon of fellowship. Please sign–up on the hallway bulletin board if you wish to attend. There is also a different sign–up sheet if you would like to share a dessert. For tickets ($5.00) and questions, please see Jill Kasper or Cecilia Raebel. Money raised through this event will go to support the local mission led by Waxahachie Mayor Billie Wallace shared with our Bible Class on April 27th.

RETIREMENT GIFT: Rev. Michael Newman, the Texas District President is retiring after this year’s District Convention in June. The Texas District is asking the congregations of the district to give him a retirement gift. Our church council has endorsed this gift drive. If you would like to give a financial gift for his years of service, please put that gift in an envelope and mark it “Rev. Newman.”

VBS: Happening JUNE 9th—12th, from 6—8pm! Our theme is LIVE IT OUT and we will learn how to love like Jesus! Register your kids here: https://vbsmate.com/events/Christthekingwaxahachie/30359. We need lots of volunteers to make this event happen. From helping in the kitchen, to crafts, to being a small group leader–there is a spot for YOU! Please talk to Rhonda Byler or any member of the Board of Education to see how you can be involved.

CAMP LONE STAR: In place of taking a Pioneer group this summer, Christ the King is offering a $350 scholarship for any of our children and students wishing to attend a week at Camp Lone Star. You will register your child through Camp Lone Star’s website and then turn in a copy of the registration confirmation to Allison Daniels to receive the scholarship check. More info about Camp Lone Star’s programs can be found below and at https://camplonestar.org/lagrange-summer/

GRADUATE RECOGNITION: We will be recognizing our graduates on Sunday May 18th. Please send your family’s high school or college graduate info to DCE Allison so we can celebrate them! Please send a picture and graduation info and their next step plans to ctk-dce@sbcglobal by Thursday May 15th.

PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT: It is happening Saturday, May 10th, from 5-7pm! All CTK kiddos 5th grade and below are invited to be dropped off for an evening of fun and games while parents enjoy some much-needed free time! Dinner is provided, so please RSVP to Allison by Thursday May 8th.

TODAY’S FLOWERS: The altar flowers today are given by Sarah and Cade Johnson in celebration of their one year wedding anniversary. We still need flowers for June 22nd and 29th, July 20th, October 5th, and December 21st.
