NOTES ABOUT CTK: Next quarter’s Portal of Prayer is now available on the Welcome Center. Please be sure to pick one up today! On October 11th, Pastor starts a new Bible study on the Parables of Jesus.

MISSION FESTIVAL: Today, September 27th, we have our annual mission festival. Representatives from the various missions we support have set up informational booths in the fellowship hall that share with us their mission efforts. During the Bible Class hour, these representatives will be given a short time to address our people and avail themselves to questions anyone may have. We invite everyone to come and hear how our gifts are making a difference!

INSTALLATION TODAY: The second vice-president of the Texas District Pastor Larry Krueger and the District Evangelist Development Leader Deaconess Noemi Guerra are here today for the installation of Texas District Deaconess Intern Laura Sanders. Pastor Krueger is officiating the rite on behalf of the Texas District as Laura will serve under the district the next four years. The installation will be at our 10:45 a.m. service. The Texas District invites you to a reception to celebrate with Laura in our fellowship hall. The reception is sponsored by the Texas District.

ELDERS SEEKING INPUT: The Board of Elders are asking for input from the members of CTK about moving service times to 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. If the change was to happen, Sunday School would run from about 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Please let an elder know your thoughts on this. The hope is that such a time change will increase our growth.

OFFICERS NEEDED: It is that time of year where we are looking for people interested in serving Christ the King by being a church officer. This year we need people to run for President, Secretary, Council-At-Large, and for positions of the Board of Elders, Social Ministry and Outreach, Trustee, Education, and Stewardship. Our nominating committee members are Jill Kasper, Tom Batchelor, Jon Bruinsma, and Pastor Raebel. Don’t wait to be asked! If the Spirit moves you, submit your name to one of the nominating committee members!

SMALL GROUP: You should soon hear from your small group leaders. They will tell you time and place of when and where your group will be meeting. If their time doesn’t work for you, please check the scheduled time and places of other small groups to see if one of those is better for you. That schedule is posted on the bulletin board. If you don’t hear from a small group leader by the end of the month and wish to be part of a group, notify the office and we will be sure to get you in touch with a group.

TRUNK OR TREAT: Save the date for our annual Trunk or Treat event, taking place on October 24th from 4-6pm. We usually have a big turnout for this event, and we need lots of volunteers to make it run smoothly; so please consider volunteering by hosting a trunk, helping with crafts, carnival games, or in the kitchen! We would also be happy to accept candy or other individual packaged treats to pass out. If you need decorations or costumes for your trunk, we have quite a few available at church, just talk to Allison for ideas!

FALL FESTIVAL AND SILENT AUCTION: Sunday, October 18th our annual Silent Auction is quickly approaching. We are looking for Silent Auction items, such as homemade cakes or goodies, crafts or themed gift baskets. Please fill out a form that is located on the Welcome Table. If you have any questions, please contact someone on the Board of Social Ministries.
