Weekly Announcements

March 9, 2025

NOTES ABOUT CTK: The constitutional review committee’s next meeting is March 29th at 8:30 a.m. If you have any questions or suggestions about possible revisions to our present constitution, please share them with our committee members who are Neal Matuska, Kelly Hinton, Tom Caldwell, and Pastor Raebel.

Have you considered adding something to your Lenten routine this year? Check out our “Lent at Home” resources to help you grow closer to Jesus this Lenten season. There is something for all ages! Provided by the Board of Christian Education. A major thanks to all who came out to our Build a Bed service project last week! We had a goal of making 20 beds and we ended up making 23!

DONATIONS: On the hallway bulletin board is a sign-up list for weekly donations for our Lenten Suppers. We would appreciate any donations of soup, bread, crackers, desserts, etc., for the next six weeks.

THE LENTEN JOURNEY HAS BEGUN: This Wednesday, we continue our Lenten journey with services at 7:00 p.m. Come an hour earlier and enjoy a soup dinner with your family at CTK. We will be having Lenten Services every Wednesday until April 9th. Please journey with Christ through the valley of His suffering to make the joy of the resurrection more meaningful.

GRIEF SHARE: Weekly classes have begun and will continue until April 26th. Each session takes place on Saturdays from 3–4:30 p.m., in the church library. To register, please visit (https://www.griefshare.org/groups/259534/registrations/new). You may also register in person. Hosts Craig and Sandra Cates look forward to sharing God's love with you. If you have any questions, text Sandra @ 972-935-2743.

LENTEN SMALL GROUP STUDY: Our annual Lenten Small Group study on the Screwtape Letters meets on March 8th from 10:00-11:30 and on March 15th from 9:00-10:30 a.m. It will last for about six weeks. If you wish to attend, please buy this book Screwtape Letters and study guide Screwtape Letters Study Guide so we will all be on the same page. By March 15th, please have the first twelve letters read along with the accompanying pages of the study guide. To get the links to come up, put your cursor on the link and then press the control button.

THE MESSIAH IN THE PASSOVER: On March 26th at 7:00 p.m., Chosen Peoples Ministry will host a “Messiah in the Passover” presentation. It will show how Christ is foreshadowed in the age-old Passover meal. Throughout its long history, Chosen People Ministries has been unwavering in its commitment to bring the Gospel message of salvation in Jesus “to the Jew first and to the Gentile” throughout the world. In stressing the Jewish roots of Christian faith, Chosen People Ministries hopes to make the message of the Messiah more accessible to Jewish people and to help Christian believers achieve a greater appreciation of the Jewish basis of their own faith traditions. The presenter will be Erik Mattson. A free will offering to support their ministry will be taken. Checks needed to be written to “Chosen Peoples Ministry.”

COPIES OF “21”: A journal which records the experiences pastor, and his mother had, between the 21 months of pastor’s father’s death and his mother’s, are available on the Welcome Table. If you are experiencing a difficult time of grief, you might find this journal helpful.

EASTER SERVICE TIMES: On Easter Sunday, April 20th our Sunrise Service will be held at 6:30 a.m. Easter Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. Our traditional Easter Service will be at 9:00 a.m. followed by our blended service at 10:45 a.m.

INQUIRY CLASS: Another class for those seeking to learn more about the Christian faith has started on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. These classes are six in number and serve as a route to membership at Christ the King. However, attenders are under no obligation to join. We will not meet on March 13th.
