Weekly Announcements

NOTES ABOUT CTK: We wish Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers!  Now that the Town Hall meeting on the building options has met, please keep this in your prayers and thoughts. When having discussions about them with others, please keep them respectful. The vote to decide what option we pursue is on June 28th. Every Sunday until then, 10 minutes of Bible Class time is being dedicated to answering your questions. If you would like further information, please contact Holly Bruinsma. Confirmation is next Sunday.  On May 24th, we will honor those who have fallen in war in our Memorial Day Service. If you know of someone who has fallen in battle and would like that person’s name mentioned next Sunday, please inform the church office of the name, the military branch the person served in and the war in which the person died. A submitted picture would also be helpful. On May 31st, we will honor those from our church who are graduating. If you or would like a loved one’s graduation to be recognized, please contact DCE Allison Daniels.

MAILBOXES: The church council has been finding the caretaking of the mailboxes to be somewhat cumbersome. The decision is to remove all mailboxes that are not wanted. Therefore, if you wish to retain a mailbox, please sign your name on the sheet in the narthex.

CHURCH DIRECTORY: You should have received a link to the online church directory. If not, please let the office know and we will find a way to get you one. In the meantime, please look over the information we have for your family and make sure it is correct. If changes need to be made, you can make them yourselves. The change will take effect after the administrator of the program approves them. If your name doesn’t have a photo, we would be very grateful if you could supply one on the platform. Thank you.

THANK YOU: “Thank you for supporting my college journey here at Concordia with a scholarship. The blessing of being able to attend a Lutheran University is one I am incredibly grateful for. Thank you again for helping to support me! Blessings, Kathryn Hinton (this beautiful card is hanging on the bulletin board)

CLUB FOR A CAUSE: Waxahachie is getting a BJ’s Wholesale Club Store and offering what they call Club for a Cause. Christ the King has received a special link and code, offering a discount on a membership card AND a portion will go back to CTK and support King’s Kids MDO!! Learn more about the membership levels and sign up here or use the QR Code below:

ALTAR FLOWERS: Due to rising costs, altar flowers now range from $35-$40, Mary tries her best to keep the amount as reasonable as possible but due to availability and source it may not always be possible. If paying with cash please put in an envelope, write “Altar Flowers” on the envelope and put in the offering plate, if paying with a check please make check out to Christ the King and “Altar Flowers” in the memo and place in the offering plate.

CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGE: Every agenda item at our Voters’ Assembly meetings is important. On June 28th, in addition to the exciting vote on a new sanctuary or new administration building, we will also consider a small but impactful change to Article 6.4 of the Constitution. The Board of Elders and the Constitution Review Committee recommend this change to increase the number of candidates for a future pastoral call and to protect the future of Christ the King. If you have any questions about this matter, please speak with Tom Batchelor of the Board of Elders, Kelly Hinton or Tom Caldwell of the Constitution Review Committee.

TODAY’S ALTAR FLOWERS: Today’s flowers are given by James and Crystal Bell celebrating Cade and Sarah Johnson’s anniversary.
